Nicole's First Communion and our trip to Charlotte

We drove down to Charlotte this past weekend for Nicole's First Communion. She had a solo reading and did an excellent job. Nicole spoke so eloquently and was so very poised and we are all very proud of her. It was a very exciting weekend for me and the kids - we were able to spend time with friends and with our family.

Before going to the church for the service, we spent some time in the pool and a friend who I had met during the adoption process online was able to join us with her beautiful Guatemalan sons. The kids had such a great time together and it was as if our families had all been friends for years.


Unfortunately, I didn't bring my camera to the church and have no pictures of Nicole in her beautiful dress looking like a beautiful young lady. But, here are a few of the family the next day.

On Monday during the ride home, we stopped on the side of the road in Virginia to stretch and I took the opportunity to take a few pictures:

It was a wonderful weekend and we hope to see everyone again soon!

HERSHEY PARK!!

We ended spring break this weekend with a trip to Hershey Park. The kids and I had a great time, perfect weather and short lines for the kids rides as the day went on.

Now we are back home and into regular routines. Next week is the first outdoor soccer game for Nathan and his first golf lesson and Sela is preparing for her ballet recital!

Beautiful Weekend Weather

We have had beautiful, very warm weather and the kids have enjoyed playing outside!

Easter Egg Hunt and Matzoh Balls

Last Sunday, Nathan and Sela joined the kids in the neighborhood for an Easter Egg Hunt. This was a first for my kids and they were very excited to find the eggs. Later that afternoon, we went home to make Matzoh Balls in preparation for Pesach. Nathan showing off all the eggs he had collected:

As my kids are getting older, they don't like to stay still to have their pictures taken, so many of hte pictures I have from the Passover Sedar are of my neice Hollie and cousin Henry!

Sela was very excited to be wearing makeup (in preparation for her ballet recital in the spring) and was careful that it did not come off.

Another great weekend!

The weekend started off early on Friday afternoon when I surprised Sela at school to take her out early to attend a princess party.

She had a great time, dressing up in her princess dress complete with high heel shoes and jewelry. They made their own crowns with jewels and did other art projects, sang songs and had a parade.

After the party, off we went to Nathan's school where I had a meeting with his teacher. He is doing great in school and improved a great deal since the beginning of the year. We are all very proud of him!

On Saturday after ballet, some old friends came to visit. It was great seeing Scott and Jenn and the kids all got along and played together beautifully!
Sunday brought on another indoor soccer game - GO FORCE! Nathan did a great job. He scored two goals and played very aggressively, going for the 50/50 balls and not watching the game or waiting for the ball to come to him. He is becoming a very good player and it is such a joy to watch him play and have so much fun. He always has a smile on his face.

That evening we went to see Bret and Becca's new home - it is beautiful. We also celebrated Bret's birthday with dinner at Mi Rancho and were so happy when Seth, Aunt Sherry and Uncle Saul were able to join us!

We had a great weekend filled with princesses, ballet, friends, soccer and family!!
