Rough night! Then I come home to my precious children sleeping safely and soundly in their beds looking like angels and everything seems right with the world. They give me hope for the future. I am so very thankful for all my many blessings!!

amazed that after one week away in warm weather and shorts in Florida, we return to snow and long pants only to find that Nathan suddenly grew and his jeans and sweats no longer fit and are all too short!!

Nathan's picture was in Maryland Family Magazine Jan 2010 issue!! The picture is from last year at Bet Yeladim. At the age of 5, this is his 2nd time in a local publication.

This morning I asked Nathan why there was a number 19 on his folder for school - he told me that it was for his mommy's age...

it was my turn for a teacher conference today and I cried. Nathans teacher spent a lot of time telling me how incredibly special he is. Other teachers came in to meet me and tell me the same. As a mother, I know my children are special, but it is so nice to hear that others think the same!

Hollie sleeps over!

Hollie and Oreo both slept over this weekend - 3 kids and 3 dogs!! And, I survived! :) We all had a great time. Here are a few pictures of the kids bathtime together. Nathan doesn't like having his picture taken lately, but doesn't mind if he can act silly! My beautiful bathing beauty!

Can't wait for the next sleepover!

Happy Birthday Henry

This weekend we had the honor and privaledge of celebrating the first birthday of a very special little boy, our cousin, Henry! It was a perfect day for an outdoor party and fun was had by all!

Wonderful Weekend

We had a wonderful time with family this weekend as we celebrated the birthdays of Seth, Ross and Teri, then on Sunday we had a super Mothers Day. Here are a few pictures of the kids at the house before leaving for the party:

Bret and Becca hosted a wonderful party to celebrate the birthdays of Seth, Teri and Ross who are all entering a new decade!

On Sunday we attended the unveiling for Grandma Helen. The kids and I shared stories with each other about our special times with her. Then, after enjoying a wonderful brunch with Bubie, PopPop, Aunt Teri, Uncle Jamie and Hollie the kids and I spent a quiet afternoon together at home where they showered me with the most wonderful gifts! I received a coupon book from each of them along with beautiful cards they made and things they made in school. Among my favorites, were some things the kids wrote for me.

It is such a complete honor and privaledge to be a mom to two such amazing and loving children. They are such a blessing to me.

Finally, in honor of my mother, we sent food baskets to the mothers in Guatemala whose children we sponsor. I hope they enjoyed their mother's day as much as I did!!

Nicole's First Communion and our trip to Charlotte

We drove down to Charlotte this past weekend for Nicole's First Communion. She had a solo reading and did an excellent job. Nicole spoke so eloquently and was so very poised and we are all very proud of her. It was a very exciting weekend for me and the kids - we were able to spend time with friends and with our family.

Before going to the church for the service, we spent some time in the pool and a friend who I had met during the adoption process online was able to join us with her beautiful Guatemalan sons. The kids had such a great time together and it was as if our families had all been friends for years.


Unfortunately, I didn't bring my camera to the church and have no pictures of Nicole in her beautiful dress looking like a beautiful young lady. But, here are a few of the family the next day.
